Are you looking for an exciting internship opportunity with one of the world's largest NGOs? Are you a strong and passionate communicator? Then you might be our new intern for the Fall semester.
Who are we?
Most of DRC’s resources to help support conflict and displacement affected persons come from institutional donors such as the European Commission, bilateral humanitarian and development funding envelopes from major donor countries, as well as UN agencies but increasingly also from Foundation partners. The Global Foundations and Institutional Donor Section (GFID) ensures DRC’s capacity to expand, deepen, and strengthen partnerships and fundraising activities with global foundations and institutional donors.
About the internship
The Donor Communications intern will be a part of a dynamic team spread across DRC HQ and DRC representations, while working closely with the HQ based Global Communications team, and reporting to the Head of the Global Foundations and Institutional Donor section. The main aim of the internship is to increase visibility for our donor partners’ support and showcase its impact, and not least support Country Offices in making this happen. Further, there will be close collaboration with the DRC Business Development colleagues based in regions and Country Offices. The tasks include but are not limited to:
- Work closely with the Global Foundations and Institutional Donors Section, Global Communications colleagues and not least Country Offices to identify and draft impact stories, and compelling cases to be shared on our external platforms.
- Support content planning through mapping and analysis of existing materials and donor compliance needs e.g. develop "cheat sheets" for our Country Offices based on donor communications guidelines
- Develop social media templates for our Country Offices under the guidance of our comms team
- Support with the drafting of engaging content across formats, including stories, digital and social media, multimedia, and internal communications, highlighting the impact of DRC’s programmes and results
- Closely coordinating with the GFID partner/donor lead, collaborate with the Global Communications Digital Communications Advisor, Country Offices and HQ Units to gather compelling evidence, data, and success stories that demonstrate the value of donor contributions and partnerships
- Design and roll-out analytics and reporting mechanisms to track and showcase donor visibility across digital and social media platforms (what worked and didn’t, performance of posts, etc)
- Perform additional tasks as needed.
We offer flexibility in the type of tasks, so you also have the possibility to influence the tasks, subject to what is relevant for your study programme.
